Hello to everyone here at Tag Tuesday...nice to meet you! This is my first post with your creative group (I became aware of it through
Laurie's blog) and I'm excited to join in with the weekly challenges. FUN!
For my travel-themed tag, I started with a great vintage illustration of a couple about to embark on a trip. From the looks of their clothes, I'd guess it to be from the 60's, back when traveling by airplane was quite an event and meant dressing up for the occasion (Sweats and flip-flops? Never!).
I placed their cut-out image on a vintage map of Europe, and behind that added a Roma Pass saved from a trip I took to Italy a few years ago. I thought the tag's upper corner needed a bit of color so I adhered an old stamp from Spain that balanced the color of the orange-y suitcase. A bit of dictionary page with the word "explore" was added, along with a little brass handbag charm to complete her chic ensemble. A compass is at the top, and its ring holds the ribbon ties which duplicate the checks in the black and white coat.
Makes me want to go on a trip!

ReplyDeleteWonderful! Love the little extras like the compass, bag charm and stamp. I remember having a 'traveling outift'. LOL. They used to give you a bag with the airline's logo on it too. Ah, the good ol' days...

You know how to make an entrance. I love your nostalgic travel tag and it's outstanding detailing. I remember wearing suits when I flew as a child in the 60's. I even wore them in the 70's. Blessings!
