Hello everyone, Happy 4th of July! I hope you have all had a lovely week, its lovely to see lots of new Taggers joining in.
This week I have been making Zigzag tags.
‘Z’ is such a
lovely letter to write, it is a shame that it is the most rarely used letter in
written English.
A variant of Z
originating in the medieval Gothic minuscules and the Early Blackletter
typefaces is the "tailed ‘z’ . The first of my zigzag tags this week shows just
some of the many styles of writing the letter Z.
At the end of my little Zigzag tag book is someone having
a snooze! This little character is Ziggy
(named after my first cat). ‘zzz ’ is used
in writing to represent the act of sleeping.
My second tag is based on the calligraphic font called
zenda, it is a gothic style 21st century font designed by Paul
Lloyd.
Inside this zigzag tag is a
Calligraphic Zebra. It is drawn just using flourishes of an edged pen. I printed this image off the web and went over the copy with my pen. I have written both Zenda and Zebra in the Zenda style.
So this brings me to the end of my Calligraphy Abecedary. This is the front of my
tag book. I like the way the ribbons and ties stick out everywhere! The owl is a usb stick with copies of all my photos, blog posts, etc.
You can see photos of the
whole alphabet at creativityabounds2.blogspot.com.
If you visit, please let me know which letter was your favourite.
I hope you have enjoyed my series of tags, and I hope I have inspired you to have a go at the art of beautiful handwriting. I have really enjoyed this challenge and appreciate the opportunity this has given me
to research the subject. I also
appreciate all your lovely comments , they always make me smile, thank you,I shall enjoy looking at all your Z tags and how you have put your alphabet tags together,
Bye for now,
Jane xx
My I ask where you got you amazing owl USB from? I absolutely LOVE owls.
ReplyDeleteI am in awe of your awesomeness Jane! Your penman skills are second to none. I don't have a favourite tag of yours because they all have such wonderful qualities so I couldn't choose any over another. You certainly should do a calligraphy workshop, I thik it is a worthwhile thing to learn for patience and concentration. It also manages to make even the most mundane like a shopping list seem more consequential, haha. Thank you so much for sharing it all with us :0) Mo x
ReplyDeleteLovely tags! And you're right-- Zs are fun to write.
