Apple of My Eye
When my 29 year-old daughter was young, I started calling her the "apple of my eye" because she was so precious to me. This saying came from the Bible, Deuteronomy, " He encircled him, He cared for him, He guarded him as the apple of his eye."
My tag is a manila tag cut out of an old manila folder. I drew a big brown eye on it with colored pencils, pencil and markers. The eye is like mine, kind of a rosy brown color that is peculiar to several of us in my family. For the pupil, or apple of my eye, I made and cut out a very small copy of a picture of my daughter on her wedding day when she was looking up at me and laughing. For all of her femininity, she laughs like a 400 pound Russian truck driver, a sound that filled our home and my heart with profound joy. I finished by writing the quote, "For she is the apple of my eye; she is the star in my sky."
I hand dyed the ribbon to accentuate the colors on the tag. It's a very simple tag.
I lOVE your tag! As a father of two precious girls and the apples of my eyes, I truly appreciate your take on this week's theme. Blessings!
