Hi everyone. I have had my eye on your tags this week and they are great! For my effort I have used a stamp from one of my favourite makers- PaperBag studios.
I have always found her eyes very mesmorising! Firstly I stamped the background of the tag with Coffee archival using the Papillion background stamp by Tim Holtz and aged it with Old Paper and Walnut Stain ink. Then I stamped the girl with Black archival and left her uncoloured as I wanted to use mainly brown colours and I wanted her to 'pop'. The branches die was cut from some old packing and agedwith distress ink and the quote is another from PaperBag Studios and is a personal favourite of mine. The butterflys were cut from an experiment piece of paper using my new Gelli plate and some - you've guessed it - brown acrylic paint! I liked the lacy effect I got from impressing the plate with an assortment of background stamps. Then I cut a smaller tag from some Kraft paper and stamped a butterfly on it and overlaid it with another 3D punched one and added the word Eyes. Finally the co-ordinating stamped ribbon was threaded at the top.
I'm off to work shortly but will be back later to enjoy your art work. Thank you for last weeks lovely comments - I do appreciate your kind words. Take care and enjoy the sun! X
