I've been away for the past two weeks, taking my daughter to start her first year of college about 2000 miles from home. Arriving back here yesterday was so bittersweet; the house feels very empty without her here. My tag this week is a simple rebus, expressing my melancholy sentiments. I've already shipped her first 'care package' today, sent with this tag tucked inside.
My daughter has very distinct, icy blue eyes, and I immediately thought of her when I saw this week's theme. The eye that I used on the tag came from this recent photo of her:
She called last night with a funny story: she was carrying her tray in the college cafeteria yesterday, minding her own business, when a hulking refrigerator-sized football player walked toward her. He stopped dead in his tracks, then hopped backward, stared at her and remarked, "Damn...those are some crazy eyes"! And then he abruptly walked away, leaving her standing there, wondering if she had just been complimented...or just the opposite! Regardless, we had quite a laugh over her retelling of the scenario.
It's going to be hard waiting till Christmas before I can see her crazy eyes again!
Your daughter is stunning and her eyes are so beautiful.

ReplyDeleteYour daughter is simply stunning. I am absolutely certain that the guy's "crazy eyes" comment was a compliment - no doubt they stopped him dead in his tracks! I remember taking our daughter to college - she grew up too quickly but so beautifully. You'll like my tag for next week!
