Wings

"There are only two lasting legacies we can give our children. The first is roots, the other wings."
I would have to add "faith" to that saying because with faith, you have both roots and wings.
There are other wonderful legacies we can give our children. In our family some of those would be imagination, a love of reading, social responsibility, kindness, patience. What are yours?
My tag is a manila tag distressed with Tim Holtz products. I put the quote on a smaller tag and used my trusty Exacto knife to design and cut out the wings. The cross of course, represents faith.

  6. What a wonderful post! I so agree with the quote and everything you've written. I've lived my life to give my 23-year-old son roots and faith, and now he is using his wings to venture out into his own life - today he is moving out. It is bittersweet, of course, but necessary. And that's where faith comes full circle. I do have faith in God's plan and provision for him. Great tag, and you are a marvel with an exacto knife!
