Love this week's theme - it gave me the perfect excuse to use some very unusual ink ...
This little sketch of an elf was inspired by some Shaggy Ink Caps we found at the weekend. We ate the smaller ones, but I kept this one ...
... because the Great All-Knowing Wizard Google told me that in a matter of hours it would magically transform into an ink suitable for drawing with - and so it did!
I used the somewhat pungent ink to make my sketch, as a wash for the background and to colour the leaves and ribbon - Nature's Distress Ink :o)
Thanks for checking out my tag, can't wait to see what everyone else has made, there are so many possibilities for this theme!
See you again soon.

Fabulous tag, and a great idea using the ink cap ink.

I've heard of the ink-cap but never seen one, nor it's ink I love the results you got. As you said, natures distrss ink, hehe ;)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE YOUR TAG, ANNIE!!! I also love learning something new everyday, and this use for Shaggy Ink Caps is one I would definitely want to try in my drawings. We get mushrooms growing in out backyard sometimes, but I'm not sure if they're the right kind. I looked them up and they're supposed to grow in North America, so I'll need to keep an eye out for them. Thanks for sharing this amazing tag and knowledge. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteinspiration is everywhere--what a wonderful idea!
ReplyDeleteI adore this tag! The wonderful, monochrome colour choice, the beautifully drawn cheeky little imp, the composition, it really is fabulous. And thank you for introducing me to something new. I so want to find one of these ink caps and use it. Must read up on it.
