In the Style of ...

Hi everyone,

It took me the best part of the week to even decide what to do for htis week's theme - there are just so many possibilities! In the end, I decided to try and emulate the distinctive style of one of my favourite You Tubers, Vicky Pappaioannou.

 Here's what I came up with ...

I love how Vicky builds up layers of texture and colour for the background, using patterned tissue, gesso, Distress Paints and Inks. She creates her whimsical scenes by hand drawing shapes onto patterned paper rather than colouring in and then when everything has had a coat of matte medium, she uses Pitt Big Brush Pens to add shading to all the shapes. Her lettering tends to be black, often with white doodling and she likes to add some 3D embellishments.

I've spent many happy hours watching Vicky's YT vids - it's always fascinating to watch her work. Hopefully I have captured something of her style in this tag - I certainly had fun trying anyway :o)

Not sure if I'll be able to play along next week, as I'm going in to hospital for a few days on Wednesday - but I will try really hard to get my tag in before I go!

Now let's see what everyone else has done - there really was just so much scope with this one!
