When I first looked up at the night sky when I moved to Europe, I freaked because an obvious feature was missing - the Southern Cross! I felt a twinge of homesickness, but then I always feel homesick when I look at the night sky. I'm sorry, all you northern hemisphere residents, but your night sky just doesn't do it for me; we have the best stars on our half. On the other hand, with time I discovered fireworks in Europe. OK, all fair, you've balanced it out for me. Those displays blew me away!
Then why oh why didn't I travel to Lapland in winter.?! I lived in Helsinki, spitting distance. Oh well, didn't and that's that. For someone who hates daytime and thrives at night, I couldn't get enough of the white nights in summer. Go figure.
Anyway.................................. here is my night sky tag, the stuff I missed out on in wintery Lapland - Aurora Borealis (did you know same phenomenon is called Aurora Australis on the south pole?).
Perfect Pearls Interference powder set used for these northern lights. I had a glimpse of your tags so far - gooooooooorgeous! I will come around comment later.

our Southern Cross is rather iconic isn't it!!
ReplyDeleteI love how you have done the trees and got those gorgeous colors behind them! So clever!:)
Fabulous colors on your tag!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you created the northern lights! The simplistic silhouette of the trees is perfect against the beautiful background you painted. Lovely tag!

This is such a pretty tag. The colors are beautiful! I've only seen the "Northern Lights" once. I live in the southwest suburbs of Chicago and for whatever strange reason, the "lights" actually came down that far south. Absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSuper subject to pick for night sky. The perfect pearls have really done the job! It is my daughter's ambition to see the Northern Lights - I am sure she will one day.
