Day of the Dead

Many Thanks to everyone who joined us over the last 2 weeks, there was such a variety of  Tags for Pinky's theme.

Do pop back in a week to see who the challenge favourite is.

This time around it's our Michele's theme of "Day of the Dead" and here she is to tell you about it and share her fabulous tags with you.

Hello Friends, since our most recent challenge went all in on Halloween and Spooky Vibes, I thought I would encourage us to celebrate day of the dead.

The day of the dead (Spanish: Día de los Muertos) is a holiday traditionally celebrated on November 1 and 2, it is widely observed in Mexico, where it largely developed and is also observed in other places, especially by people of Mexican heritage.

The holiday involves family and friends gathering to pay respects and remember friends and family members who have died. There are a lot of interesting themes and images that emerge: skeletons, skulls, marigolds, food stuffs, and altars in remembrance of the dearly departed.

I hope people will have fun with this theme, and I'm offering a few tags to get us started.

My images are mostly from gecko galz collage sheets and paper packs, with other bits and bobs from my stash. I hope you will play along, and perhaps use this opportunity to remember loved ones who have passed on.

We are looking forward to seeing your tags, as always please add your link here:

  1. I was in Mexico during the Day of the Dead one year and thought it was really creepy. But I didn't know what it was all about, it just seemed like a scarier Halloween. After making these art pieces, I've learned a lot about this special day, literally a Day honoring the Dead who are loved and missed. ❤️
