Greetings! I love all the wonderful vintage photographs you've been using in the tags this week. I was going to use a photograph of my parents from the 1950/60's as the focal point in my tag this week, but my printer has been acting up lately. Therefore, I used a Native American inspired broach that I designed instead. I hope you like it.

My tag was inspired by most of the techniques presented by Tim Holtz, in the 12 Tags of 2012 - November post. I did the resist background exactly the way he did. However, I used different stamps. I also did the lettering by hand using a permanent black calligraphy marker. I used a scriptural phrase found in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, "In everything give thanks." I cut my broach base out of a scrap of balsa wood, and carved the shape with a Dremel tool. I drew my fish design using permanent India inks and sealed the broach with varnish. I enhanced it with rusty wire, beads, a shell, and a Tim Holtz muse token. I placed my broach over a hawk feather I found in my backyard and a scrap of burlap. I topped my tag with a strip of leather lace.
In closing, I want to thank Carolyn Saxby and the Tag Tuesday team for allowing me to be a part of such a talented team. I feel blessed every week by your inspiring challenges, tags, and thoughtful comments. May your week be filled with love, joy, and peace!
