Letter V is for Votive

I am thrilled to be joining Tag Tuesday as one of the players in the next go-round. Carolyn invited me to join in on these last few letters of the alphabet, and I chose "votive," as this tag is "offered or performed in fulfillment of a vow or in gratitude..." -- appropriate I thought for my first post to Tag Tuesday!

I wanted to capture the nature of the sacred, so I printed a Google image of a prayer in Latin with medieval music notation. I stamped and colored the cross and then added three layers of thick embossing powder, which I cracked when cool for a stained glass effect. After framing, I trimmed with fabric tape and brass embellishments and drizzled beeswax over the top, as though votive candles had dripped onto an altar in an ancient church.
