Lace
Hi everyone, Jane from Berkshire here. Another week has gone by, and I have enjoyed everyone's Vintage posts. This week I have been looking at my lace collection for inspiration. I thought about using lace in layers for a textured effect . However, for this week's post I have experimented with lace rubbings. I know I could have used some of my lovely lace, but never one to make life easy for myself, I started taking rubbings of different types of lace with different drawing materials. The effect I liked best was when I used coloured pencils. I made a rubbing of broderie anglaise onto tissue paper, then printed it onto plain typing paper. Then I made a design based on a Victorian lace fan. I hope you like it!
I like your different approach to this subject and well done for thinking outside the box!

I keep meaning to do some rubbings of lace, following a talk by Jill Flower. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteOh I love Jill's work. She taught my class at Windsor when I was doing C&G and she was doing teacher training after her diploma.
