Natures Lace Makers

Although I have lots of lace stashed in my work room, I'm not a lacy person, so when I saw this weeks theme, cobwebs came to mind. I used 300 gm mixed media paper for the tag, coloured with distress inks and stamps of seed heads. The webs are stitched in silver thread with few mico beads added for those fat dewy drops that hang of the webs on a misty morning. I have finished the bottom of the tag with a bit of dyed lace and included a bit more in the tie at the top, so did use a bit of lace after all :)
To try and achieve that misty morning look, I used a bit of H2O heavenly white as wash over the surface. Because it is a wet, grey miserable day here, I couldn't get a very good photo so have shown you one with and one without the flash. The tag looks like something between the two in real life.

Beautiful tags again this week!, I'll be back later to comment, promised to do some baking today while we have some cool weather and my coffee machine is finally fixed so better have something yummy ready to have with a decent cup of coffee :)

I have just done a post on my blog about how I went about this tag and also a link to a great Joggles video on making a book from tags.
Thanks for all your lovely comments, the tags are all so beautiful this week that would like to comment on every one, but the day is disappearing fast :(

  11. Yes Tracy - cobwebs are "real" lace - breathtaking and beautiful! I didn't have much lace or ideas this week, so fortunately Dolores from Gumnutters came to the rescue.
