Goosey: Mother Goose Shoes

When we were children, one of the highlights of the year was getting new shoes. Daddy had grown up poor and had bad feet from wearing hand me down shoes that never fit, so he insisted on buying us really good shoes. The best shoes for children in the US were Mother Goose shoes. The store personnel fit us properly and off we ran, pr0perly shod. This tag is my reproduction of the top of a Mother Goose shoe box with a white, lace up shoes for a young child. I used card stock, colored pencils and Jim Holtz distress ink to create the shoe box top and white card stock, paint, glue, cardboard and cotton perle embroidery floss for the shoe.

  10. Great imagination and interpretation of the theme. Your art work is beautiful. I do like a tag with a story to it. I haven't heard of Mother Goose shoes before, we didn't have them in the UK.
