Baking and Sewing

I am feeling very domestic with all of the baking and sewing tags I've been creating.  In reality, I have not baked in months, and have not sewn in years.  I had fun making these tags, though.  The '50's woman and the cake are from Unity Stamps.  I was really drawn to these images, but had no idea what I was going to do with them until I saw this week's theme.  The colors I chose were popular then, and I found the perfect tiny polka dot paper to paper piece her dress.  I added stickles and pearls to glam up the cake.
I was late on the Sewing theme, so I am adding it to the end here.

The sweet little girl is from a vintage ad for the Willimantic Thread Company, the tape measure is stamped in brown with gold Twinking H2O's, and I added a bit of vintage lace.
I love seeing the variety of creations on these tags, lots of talent here!

  3. I like how you use real tags. I think I would struggle paring mine down to size. I did it one week and didn't like it. Think I need more practice.

  6. Lovely Barb. See you wouldn't have time to be creative if you did all that 'housewife stuff'
