Hi everyone,
Sewing immediately conjured up images of sewing machines, vintage adverts, lace, buttons etc etc.  So somehow I ended up doing nothing like that at all!
Anyone who popped over to my blog last week will know that I am going through a 'pollen' phase - I am drawing inspiration from a beautiful book I was given, which is full of the most amazing photographs of different types of pollen, and I am feeling rather obsessed with it! (Despite the fact I get terrible hay fever every summer!)
The pollen images are printed onto silk and then cut out and hand stitched onto the tags.  I am not too happy with the white background, but I wanted the pollen to look like it was floating in the air.

This is the book I am in love with at the moment. It's by Rob Kesseler and Madeline Harley.

Thank you to everyone who left such lovely comments on my tag last week - they are very much appreciated and I really enjoyed seeing all the wonderful tags that were  made.

  2. Hi Diana,
Ive been following what you are doing with the pollen theme and I think its stunning.
For me the white background works well it doesnt detract from the silk pieces.
    Look forward to seeing more.

  5. Amazing! Great to see sewing being used as a technique rather than a theme. Also great to explore something so tiny, and look at it really close up.
