My "sewing" tag is dedicated to all those Mother and Daughter fashion statements (just in time for Mothers' Day here in North America).
M&D are from a 1940's Montgomery Ward catalogue (where I am finding lots of great graphics). Lesson learned from long ago - when the paper feels like it might easily tear, spray with Matte Finish to prevent ink smears then Mod Podge it before cutting - helps give some stability.... Enjoy! Jewels
Great tag! Love the matching outfits!!
ReplyDeleteHow colourful, amusing & useful tips too! :D

ReplyDeleteFabulous tag Jewels..love the vintage image, colours and the stitching!! LOL..my mum never made us matching outfits, but did make me matching funky party dresses for me and my dollies!! (in the seventies!)
ReplyDeleteOh, and thanks for the tip , I often use old papers etc..which often tear while cutting...so will keep that in mind!

This tag makes me feel quite nostalgic, I used to spend lots of time sewing with my grandmother, and watched my mum making the most beautiful clothes for us and customers. The image you have used is so sweet.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip on strengthening the paper. I'm more of a fabric artist so anything like that goes a long way in helping me! My mom used to make matching dresses for herself, my two sisters and me. But just for special occasions. We loved it and I treasure the pictures that were taken of us in them!
