Mother and Daughter

I was fortunate - my Mother NEVER made me wear matching outfits with her (LOL). Still some folks like to do that...
My "sewing" tag is dedicated to all those Mother and Daughter fashion statements (just in time for Mothers' Day here in North America).
You might recognize the background - I have a stash of Aunt Martha's embroidery patterns - I need to use some of the envelopes up!
M&D are from a 1940's Montgomery Ward catalogue (where I am finding lots of great graphics). Lesson learned from long ago - when the paper feels like it might easily tear, spray with Matte Finish to prevent ink smears then Mod Podge it before cutting - helps give some stability.... Enjoy! Jewels

  9. This tag makes me feel quite nostalgic, I used to spend lots of time sewing with my grandmother, and watched my mum making the most beautiful clothes for us and customers. The image you have used is so sweet.

  10. Thanks for the tip on strengthening the paper. I'm more of a fabric artist so anything like that goes a long way in helping me! My mom used to make matching dresses for herself, my two sisters and me. But just for special occasions. We loved it and I treasure the pictures that were taken of us in them!
