As the sun has been shining the last couple of days, I have been to Mersea Island twice. So for this weeks tag, I used all the bits I found while walking along the beach.
I managed to find some small bits of wood that had been washed up, they didn't look as weathered as driftwood, so I painted the wood bits with gesso, acrylic paint and a top coat of liming wax before distressing them with sandpaper. Amongst my finds was an orange rope tassel, so I used two bits of the tassel to stick the wood too, to form my tag. I then stuck the 3 different types of seaweed, shells and a small piece of sea glass on with hot glue. This tag wont be going in my tag book as the crab shell and seaweed will get damaged.
What fabulous finds Sharne, I really think this is a terrific tag! Lovely work x

ReplyDeleteWow-- lots of detail! Neat!!
ReplyDeleteWow! How did you fit all those onto one tag. I love what you have done with the wood. Great tag.
ReplyDeleteI love your miniature assemblage. The blue on the driftwood brought out the texture nicely and helped your findings stand out. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is totally cool, just love it! Valerie
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this tag! I love all your finds - and the blue is beautiful - it just brings it all together perfectly.
ReplyDeleteThe findings are lovely and work authentically against the blue.
ReplyDeleteI love that paint finish on the drift wood Sharne. I wouldn't mind doing that on some old wood furniture! It would be a shame to hide this in a book. It would make great wall art.
ReplyDeletelovely colours, great beach finds, especially the crab shell, Jane xx
