Theatre and Cinema
Just in the nick of time.... in recognition of the Australian film industry, here is another of my stitched tags depicting a shot from the first full length film made in Australia, 'The Story of the Kelly Gang' in 1906. Print on organza, appliqued film strip with free form stitching and a touch of coloured chalks to make it look older and some rather shaky handwriting on the sewing machine. Promise not to be so late for this week's theme.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE this tag... fantastic stitching, and your machine wriing is great! well done K x
ReplyDeleteGreat job Wilma - the shaky font works perfectly. I got in with my post slightly before you as I too was cutting it fine! Printing on the organza was inspired as it adds to the grainy look you would expect from old film.
ReplyDeleteReally neat! You captured the theme perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI'm always amAzed when I read about printing on something other than card, paper or acetate (also new to me) - very clever.
ReplyDeleteNice to pay tribute to Australian film :0)
The printed organza is a great idea and works really well, the embroidered handwriting is amazing, wish I could control my sewing machine that well, Jane xx
