Hi gang! I got a little carried away this week. I have some old canning jar lids and wanted to incorporate that into my tag so... Ressie was my grandmother, and she canned many different things. A family favorite was apple butter. Well, everyone but me liked it. And she always put it in a jar to give away. I made up that date just to look antique-y. Ressie would have been a bit young to be canning in 1912.
I'm adding a second photo so you can actually see that the top is a jar lid.
Brilliant use of the lid and the picture is full of beautiful colour. I would love to try apple butter. :0)

ReplyDeleteOoh, I LOVE that jar lid - what a fab idea - and I love the vintage/retro feel to your tag - it's beautiful. Whenever I go the U.S. I bring back a jar each of apple butter and pumpkin butter - you just don't get it over here, and it's gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely memento tag. I love all the personal touches. I would also love a copy of that recipe! I have only had apple butter once and it was in Florida in a ........cafe that had rocking chairs outside and you could play board games whilst you waited for a table or you could shop in the gift shop that sold country craft gift items ....ooooooh its on the tip of my tongue.......hold on just going to ask hubby.......CRACKER BARREL! There apple butter was fab as was their breakfasts - Your tag brought back happy memories for me too Dianne - thank you
