Decorate a Christmas bauble

I hope everyone is enjoying the festive season, and having fun with our Christmas tag themes. Thank you for all your sweet comments last week, and for hoping with me for the new laptop.

This week I have dug out my tags from the first few weeks of 2012.  As I'm in a bit of a lilac mood, for this week’s tag I have used the same materials and techniques as my snowflake tag from the very first week .
On one side I have written ‘Christmas’ in lilac liquid acrylic paint using a fine flat brush.  Next I covered the writing with an ice-effect voile.
I covered the other side with a sparkly silver and lilac organza, and embroidered a curvy zig-zag pattern and the effect of light reflecting off the bauble.  I have kept embellishment to a minimum to keep the bauble similar to my snowflake tag. The stitching is white which doesn't show very well in the photo. The two sides were done separately then stuck together with a silver ribbon  loop for hanging fixed in between.
I  used silver ribbon to form the  metal holder on the top of the bauble.

 Here they are together:

Looking forward to seeing all your fancy baubles, bye for now,

Jane xx

  7. Hi Jane what a great idea to match your bauble to a tag. Thank you so much for the pretty tag I received in the swap. Your writing is beautiful on my tag and on your bauble this week. I can't believe you achieved that with a paint brush! Merry Christmas Jane x
