K is for.....

Got to tell you everyone, I nearly gave in on this one! There are no essential oils beginning with K! So I researched and found a Carrier Oil instead. Carrier oils are the oils in which you blend essential oils to put onto the skin. The essential oils are too potent to use neat. There are many carrier oils, such as Sweet Almond and Evening Primrose Oil, and they all have properties of their own. Kukui oil comes from a nut originaly grown in Hawaii. It contains Vitamins A, E and F and can revitalize and restore skin and is often used to put in products that treat psoriasis and eczema and one of the ingredients that can make up sunscreen. In ancient Hawaii the nuts were burnt to provide light, and as each nut took about fifteen minutes to burn were used to mark time. Can you inagine being told to be in by the time the sixth nut was burnt? Chuckle.

I used an image from the Graphic Fairy for my dancing girl and coloured her with Copic pens and added little coloured punched flowers for her necklace and hair. the background is an advertisment Kukui oil and I added a tropical looking layered flower in the corner. I am not very pleased with this, but it was a struggle. The next few weeks should be ok though, I know what oils to pick... oh dear Q looms ever nearer! Loving all your tags, hope to be back later to leave comments. Thank you for all yours, I love reading them. Happy Sunday one and all. x
