This week is all about
the bee!
(They've been on the news all week in the UK about there poor plight!)
So as it's the Letter Q this week
I have chosen Queen Bee as my letter Q.
Thank you so much!
for all the lovely comments last week
and for sharing some really great tags!
For this weeks tag I mainly used my Silhouette Cameo
to help me create my tag.
I love this great little machine! It's so useful!
I used it to cut my own mask this week out of doeflex.
I used a honeycomb pattern from
the Silhouette online store and cut it out.
the Silhouette online store and cut it out.
I have never used a mask before
but I love trying new things and learning new techniques.
(The way I see it is if it doesn't work you just start again).
So I then created the background using a
piece on yellow Bazzill card stock and used
Wild Honey and Fired Brick Distress Ink
to give it a bit of shading and strong colour.
I then used Golden's Molding Paste to get some texture.
Because yes, you guessed it,
I don't have any embossing paste.
I don't have any embossing paste.
Even I was surprised that it worked :)
(Not sure if it's the same stuff as I haven't used the craft embossing paste yet).
It drys clear and has a glossy finish.
I normally use it with my acrylic paints and mix them together,
but as I was using it with a homemade mask
I used the paste on it's own first and then painted over the top when it was dry.
I love the texture and shine result.
I then cut a large bee out and coloured it in
using my Spectrum Noir Pens and
added a few Sparkles to finish her off!
Hope you like it
and
Thanks for looking!
I can't wait to see everyone else's tags.

Fantastic tag! That background is just amazing. It must have taken ages to make the tag, there are so many different techniques and embellies, but boy, was it worth the time. It really is a fabulous piece.
