Bonjour!
Last week my husband called me urgently into the garden as a bird had flown against the kitchen window and stunned itself. I found the most beautiful bird lying in my herb bed, still alive but not moving. We carefully picked him up and drove him to our neighbour where we put him in a shady spot under a bush, hopfefully to recover and away from our cat. I went back a couple of hours later and he'd gone - hopefully a good sign! I looked him up on the internet and found out he was a Great Spotted Woodpecker - fabulous bird. I can often hear them tap, tap, tapping away but had never seen one before. So - there you have it- W for Woodpecker!
I have posted the new themes for July on the sidebar - hope you like them!!
Have a good week everyone.
Carolyn xx
Gorgeous woodpecker! I found a thrush on my balcony, but it was unfortunately already in the big land above the skies; hope it's soaring happily there. Valerie
ReplyDeleteLove your little woodpecker, hope he made it.

Great tag-- like how you shot it too! Hope the birdie is OK!
ReplyDeleteGreat tag, I love the composition and colors. You surprised me, for a moment while reading your story, I was sure your W word would be "wing!" Hope your must is okay.

ReplyDeleteHow beautiful - the bird and the tag! Hope your little bird is ok - we found a little blue tit in a similar predicament once and it flew away after an hour or so, seemingly fit as a fiddle. :o)x
ReplyDeleteI love woodpeckers, they are beautiful, hope yours is back on form! A lovely story, love the wood on your tag and in the background, Jane xx
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear that you managed to rescue the birdie. I have never seen the woodpeckers which we keep hearing at our place in France. Seeing the fella on your gorgeous tag kinda made up for that. Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteA lovely little birdy tag :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tag for a beautiful bird! We found a baby jackdaw this week, which was stunned, so we kept it safe overnight, and it was fine in the morning and flew away.
