What other than
Web!
The web is worked in 'Whipped Stem'
There are many stitches that can be 'Whipped' it simply means wrapped with another thread in this case the web was worked in a simple black stem stitch then whipped with silver thread.
Little 'Webster' the spider was created from two different stitches
a 'Woven Spiders Wheel' for the body
and a 'Wheatear' stitch for the head.
Thanks so much for all your thoughts on displaying my finished A~Z stitched tags it's been very helpful.
I haven't even laid them all out yet to look at them in order, just keep adding them to a little plate in my display cabinet. I'm looking forward to seeing them all placed out :)
I didn't manage to visit all of your lovely tags last week, we managed to get away for a weekend of sunshine by the sea :) I shall go look at them now.
