W is for.....

Well girls, thought I Was really and truly scuppered this Week, but then I thought, lovely as the oils are they do come with certain Warnings as to their use. Never use them neat on the skin, except for Lavender oil if you have a small burn, always mix them with a carrier oil. Never use citrous oils in a massage if you intend to go out sun bathing as they can cause the skin to go blotchy. Don't use strong smelling oils such as Peppermint if there is someone who has epilepsy as it can bring on a fit. Never use oils such as lavender or Chamomile or Rose or Rosemary or Peppermint which are emenagogues which means they can cause uterine bleeding, in the first part of pregnancy, in fact some oils should never be used in pregnancy at all so consult a qualified aromatherapist first! Strong oils such as Eucalyptus and Peppermint can antidote homeopathic remedies. Lavender can lower the blood pressure and make people dizzy, while Rosemary can increase it! These are only some of the Warnings, a good bool is The Directory of Essential Oils, by Wanda Sellar, who lists all the precaution alongside each oil.
For my tag I thought I would have fun and make something scary. Not everyones cup of tea (ha ha) but gets over the warning message well enough?

I used one of my Stampotique images and a poison bottle and some signs that I had with a Tim Holtz rub-on and then stamped Warning at the top. Then I ran it through a droplests embossing folder and  used Festive Berries distress ink over the tag. Scary huh? Anything can be poisonous if not used correctly! Off to look at your Wonderful Wubbelyous, I've seen some great ones already! Hugs, Barb x
