My second tag for Tag Tuesday and a huge thank you for the wonderful comments on my first tag post and for the warm welcome.
My word for Z is Zentagle
I remember when this sort of artwork was called doodling and I used to do it all the time in the margins of my school exercise books. This usually meant I ended up in detention as the margin was for teachers remarks. Almost 60 years ago so I expect things have changed.
I drew the zentagle on a plain tag, masked it and distressed around it. Next came the fancy corner punch and then I added another tag behind to show up the corners better.
Great tag, and I had the same experience at school! one teacher wrote 'Slut!' in my exercise book! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteLovely 'doodles' Chrissies. You did a lot of fancy ones there and I love your fancy punch in the corners :0)
ReplyDeleteGreat tag Chrissie! Like you, I spent hours doodling in the back of school books and got told off for it too! Who would have thought it would be reborn as 'zentangle'?

Some lovely zentangling here! I always admire it but I don't think I've got the patience. Great tag! Carolyn xx
ReplyDeleteLove your Zentangle, they are so versatile are they not? Great tag!

Very nice-- like that soft green color too!
ReplyDeleteI love all the zentangling. I was a doodler in school and still doodle while on the phone as well. :)
ReplyDeleteZentangles are so cool! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of zentangle until the past few weeks. Love how yours came together!
ReplyDeleteGreat work, fun tag! X
ReplyDeleteOooh, I remember getting beautifully doodled letters from friends in the 70s, your gorgeous zentangled tag reminded me of those.
ReplyDeleteFabulous doodling, reminds me of boring biology lessons! love the green with plain tag under to show off the corner punch, Jane xx
ReplyDeleteI love this kind of doodling. Oh poor teacher - she really did not appreciate art did she!!

Love the colours and the kind of bohemian feel to this tag - and your story brought back memories too .... I remember having to cover books in wallpaper. Do they even still have exercise books these days?! :o)
ReplyDeleteLovely Zentangle tag, Chrissie.

Oh, why didn't I think of that? I've been wanting to try zentangles myself!
