Travel

I've really enjoyed seeing everyone's Travel Tags this week.  So much variety!

I had a bear of a time with this one; just couldn't figure out what I wanted to do (hence the procrastination until Friday...).  I finally chose to focus on our travels thus far this summer.  Two of my kids play club soccer so much of our time is spent running them to practices and tournaments.  We spend a LOT of time traveling the I-5 corridor!

I started with an old scrap of soccer paper that I didn't particularly like.  After a bit of inking around the edges and stamping over the top with a chicken wire stamp (I'm thinking goal netting!) it redeemed itself.  The freeway signs I pulled off the internet. Initially my tag was a rectangle, but that was kind of boring so I printed off a map of WA state which I stuck over the top of my rectangle with temporary double stick tape and just cut around.  Easy peasy.

Thanks for taking a peek at my tag this week.

  2. That's really clever, Julie. This tag would look great framed or in a scrapbook page of your children in their uniforms. Blessings!

  8. Great ideas in your tag, well done, and I love how it could become a piece of memorabilia. The chicken wire totally looks like netting! I love it when the most bland base comes alive with some embellishment. Isnt' it really all about the details? :-)

  9. I like how your tag 'evolved'... the addition of the 'netting' and cut shape of WA were perfect solutions, because the tag is wonderful! I've done my share of soccer travel on I-5, too...just a little south of you in Portland :-)
