Egypt

The Egypt tags by all of you this week are so interesting and beautiful!  Here is my offering:
Bible stories came to mind, tales of Joseph and Jacob, Pharoahs, and my favorite: Moses being found in a basket by an Egyptian princess.  I have a wonderful old Bible story book, published in 1923, that has beautiful illustrations, so I scanned and made a print of this depiction of the baby Moses.
I also had saved a greeting card from years ago that had both the lotus and the border illustrations, and the colors couldn't have been a better match to the Moses picture.  I put a gold foil border around the lotus and raised it up a bit for dimension.  The bead also seemed like a perfect match, and I added metallic gold threads for the tie.  (Hope you can get a fair idea of the finished result; my point-and-shoot camera leaves a little to be desired...)

See you all again with beads and buttons and bows, oh my!

  8. Gorgeous tag! I love the border and bead at the top. The story of Moses was one of my favorites. I always felt sorry for the little baby floating all alone down the river in his little basket!
