Hi there everyone,
I missed last week because we were In Bruges, and then In Amsterdam for a few days, but I will enjoy checking out your lovely tags as soon as I've posted this. Actually I'm a bit disappointed with it - lovely theme and I had lots of fabulous goodies to play with, but it just wouldn't come together right for me. Here it is anyway, just for the record ...
The lovely lady is a belly dancer - she came from one of the gorgeous collage sheets at Lunagirl and so did her wings! I dug out some oddments of ribbon, lace, flowers and a broken charm necklace and got messy with Distress Paints and Inks, Dylusions Ink Sprays and even some gorgeous green Stickles on her boobies. Still not happy, I added sticky gems all around the edge (I now notice that one of them jumped out of line to spite me just as I took the photo!) - at this point, I realised that this was one of those times when I could carry on throwing stuff at this tag forever and still not be happy with it ... so I stopped :o)
The book which it's resting on is lovely though ... I think I got my love of books (especially old ones) from my Mum and this one came from her collection. Here it is without the rubbish tag!
Isn't it beautiful?
Thanks for looking ... now that's out of the way I can have a look at all of your wonderful creations!
Annie :o)xxx
Hey - that tag is lovely! So is the book! Valerie
ReplyDeleteYou're too hard on your lovely tag! I really like the lace and bits at the bottom-- nice effect!
ReplyDeleteI actually like you composition with her popping out from behind the spray of lace, flowers, pearls, etc. The soft color scheme is lovely too, and is a nice contrast to your mother's antique book cover. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteAnnie your tag is terrific and the book...wow!

I don't know what the vision you had for your tag was but I think it's delightful. I was lucky enough to score some of grandmother's old books when she passed. I love the look and smell of old books as well.
ReplyDeleteI love the vintage look of your tag.
ReplyDeleteYou must be srpouting your own wings by now, with so much travel :)
ReplyDeletelovely to put wings on your dancer!
ReplyDeleteOh I have those same creative experiences... sigh. Usually what I like least, others love best. It really is a lovely tag that I think will draw lots of oohs and aahs. You probably just need some distance from it and a cup of tea (or coffee)!
ReplyDeleteGreat vintage tag! love all the different textures :)
