Tag Tuesday: Starry Night
This was a special challenge for me as it marks my first time using the "Christmas House" stamps as an official member of the Pink Persimmon Creative Team! They have wonderful photopolymer clear stamps that cling to clear blocks and take ink amazingly well. I am so happy to be making projects with their fresh, vintage designs. (Two of my previous tags were made with their stamps here.)
I envisioned this tag looking like a 1950s Christmas ad or ornament box design. The "gray" stars are really silver glitter that doesn't show well in the photo. It was simple to put 'together:
I also have a bonus tag to show you. My beloved job is to teach reading to dyslexic students. Most truly dyslexic students are extremely intelligent and/or extremely creative. The students I currently have are both, and they love my craft room. My twelve-year-old desperately wanted to make a shaker tag, and it had to be a French girl holding a bird, an Eiffel tower and stars--good thing my craft room is bursting at the seams!!!! :-) So with only a slight bit of coaching, she made her idea into this tag, which I thought was perfect for the Starry Night theme:
My tags for the Christmas exchange have not yet arrived. I hope the Grinch hasn't absconded with them!!!! :-) I will post when they get here.
Wishing you and yours peace, love, and joy in the simple delights this holiday season!
Laura
Congratulations on your new CT membership at Pink Persimmon. I love the 1950's color scheme, imagery and detailing of your tag. (I had to go to your blog to see it, because it's not showing here.) Your daughter is as creative as you, based on her beautiful shaker tag. (I've identified dyslexic GT students in the past, so I know they can be as gifted as any of my other students.) Anyway, have a blessed Christmas season too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tags, congrats on your DT post! Valerie

ReplyDeleteFabulous tags both, Laura. Your student did extremely well, I hope she continues crafting; her life will be richer. Merry Christmas :o))
ReplyDeleteCongratulations - how wonderful to have an exciting new DT post and a rewarding job which you love. You tag looks brilliant with the stacked boxes, I love the colours and the vintage feel - and your student's tag is beautiful, too, with the little girl and the drift of irridescent snow - I would love to know the story behind that picture! Happy Christmas! :o)
