WINTER LANDSCAPE

Bonjour and Happy New Year to all of you!

For my winter tag I have used stencil paste through a Sweet Poppy stencil which I then sprinkled with white glitter.  The deer is cut from a TH die out of brown glittered card.  Finished off with ribbon and some iridescent snowflakes attached with silver brads.  It really is much more sparkly than it looks on the photo!!  I wanted to use the deer as we often see them on or around our land - they are so sweet and I hate Sundays when you can hear the hunters shooting.  I am told that they have to cull a certain quota each year to protect the crops but if I see one on hunting days I always shout 'run and hide!!!'

I have posted the new themes for January in the sidebar and I just know you will all come up with the most wonderful creations in 2014 - can't wait!!

Bonne Annee!

  9. I never thought of using stencil paste with glitter. Love it! My brother hunts, and I know that it is important to keep the deer population in check so they have a sufficient supply of food - at least in the South. That said, the story of Bambi made me so sad! Wishing you a sparkling new year!

  11. This is soooo beautiful! The background is just gorgeous, beautiful winter colours and snowy sparkle, and the deer is the perfect focal point.
My Hector surprised a deer in our lower field at the cottage last year and chased it like crazy. Got nowhere near, of course, lol. Deer are wonderful to have around, some other wildlife is not quite so welcome. While Andy and Nick, our tree surgeon son, were working on some trees right next to our fence in the summer, a huge wild boar came racing down the field on the other side of the fence, just a few metres away. Yikes!

  12. ooooh! I love the beautiful stencilled trees, the irridescent snowflakes are so pretty and the snow really does twinkle like that when you catch it right doesn't it?
Thanks so much for all the inspiration you give us - the new themes are getting my cogs turning already!
