Stripes and spots

Hi everybody!

It was rather disappointing last week that so few people joined in, so I am hoping that this week there will be more!

Our theme this week is 'spots and stripes' - or is it 'stripes and spots'? Whatever, I had fun striping and spotting, or was it stripping and spitting or....?

I used my lovely cup stencils, painted them with black gesso onto some white scrap card, and then just played with a white gel pen when it was dry - it was fun! The butterfly was flying around my table, and fitted, so now it's here. I mounted it onto some black matting, and that was it!

Looking forward to seeing your tags this week, and hopefully, lots of them!

Have a great day, take care, and thanks a lot for coming by!

  1. Fabulous tower of spitty stroppy, err, spotty stripy cups Valerie! ;)
Love them. I'm after a new cup and would love to find one like these. Your butterfly is very pretty too. :o) x

Lovely tag Val, black and white is always a fashion statement. I used to have cups like these back in the 60s! Have a great day, hugs, Sarah

  3. Reminds me of the black & white china I had in my kitchen/diner at one stage :-) lovely!

  4. Okay, I am finally inspired enough to run out and buy some black gesso. The white gel pen is perfect on there! Sooo cute!

  5. this black and white is stunning and the tag is just beautiful. i do love it. i had a crazy week and couldn't play last week but i'm back this week! xo

  6. Love this, Valerie. There is something very appealing about the wibbly wobbly pile of cups and I love the black and white - so chic! Carolyn xx

  7. Black and white is such a good choice for stripes and spots and I just adore what you have done with the cup stencil.

  8. Fab black and white tag. The patterns on the cups really show up in monochrome. Very striking tag.I want to buy some black gesso and try it out now!

  9. The black gesso is really fantastic, and great fun to work with!
