In the Style of...

.... Suziqu from Suziqusthreadworks blog. I admire her work so much. Her fabric books, collages, hearts, fabric brooches etc are so exquisite. She combines the most delightful images and fabrics with gorgeous old laces, beaded and embroidered trims in layers and layers of gorgeousness and embellishes them with sometimes rusty, weird and wonderful metal bits and pieces. You can visit her blog HERE.

I have tried to make my little tag in her style by using a pretty image, layers of lace, beaded trims and funky metal bits like the disk from an antique grater, and a brass, errrmm, flat thingy with a beautifully carved MOP button on top. Suzy would have sewn her laces etc to the tag, but mine are glued, as my sewing machine is packed away at the moment -

I am squeezing this in right at the last minute, I know, but I  had a bit of a horrid week last week. Lets just say tooth and abscess and various visits to the hospital, dentist etc. I'll be off doing the rounds of this week's tags now, so toodlepip xxx

  2. I used to belong to a group. Not now but I enjoy to look at others when I get time. As I am mostly in my craft room doing things.

Very lovely your tag. I too prefer to glue mine also.

And believe me mine stuck like cement. Many people say it is once piece still.

I just use the glue stick in my glue gun.

It sticks that lace and embellishments no problem.

I have made some on my blog tags. That I have done with scraps and about anything added. For my Granddaughter. And made them to slip into envelopes slits and painted the envelopes. I love to experiment.

    Have a nice day.
