Hi Everyone from an unusually hot and sunny Berkshire! I think summer is finally here. It does seem strange not doing any more alphabet tags, but our new weekly challenges will be great too!
For my Italy tag I printed the colours of the Italian flag using my gelli plate ( I just can't stop using it now I have started!). I used an old Italian menu-my husband travels around the world for business and often brings me back things I can use in my art work. I cut the colours into strips for added texture and put on ribbons and buttons. Michelangelo's Pieta statue was a late addition, from a very old magazine (1960s) . It was photographed on an Italian recipe book. If you want to read more about gelli plates and see my experiments with them click the link to my blog here
Beautiful tag, great idea with the Gelli plate and the Pieta. Valerie
ReplyDeleteGood tag. Italy is a art country. I hope that I can have a trip to Italy in this year.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting! Love the colors!
ReplyDeleteI love your using the Pieta...wish I had thought of that. Also love your buttons.

ReplyDeleteLovely tag. I'm intrigued by gelli plates but don't have anymore room in my creative space for new toys. ;)

I love the texture. I haven't had much luck with my gelli plate, so I'm off to visit your blog!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant tag, I love the background and how you pilled it all together with the image of the Pieta.
ReplyDeleteLove the grungy look, great tag.
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of using the menu your husband brought back! I like the use of the flag colours too - exactly the route I took!

As a mentioned on your blog, I love those Gelli Plate prints and need to get me one. The Pieta is one of my favorite Michelangelo's sculptures too. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tag - love the weathered, textured effect. Really must have a go at this gelli business, so I'll nip over to your blog and check it out in a bit ... :o)
